A privilege is a special permission or right granted to an administrator to perform a particular task on our website. Some of these tasks involve financial matters or confidential information. Our unique system of privileges gives organizations a lot of flexibility to control what administrators can do and how much they can see. For example, most companies would not want all administrators to be able to purchase products or to view assessment results.
Most privileges on our website are free. A few special privileges, however, involve an annual, monthly, or per-use service fee. For example, we charge a small service fee to generate some of our specialized reports.
When a Company Administrator registers with us and an account is opened, we grant him/her all available privileges pertaining to the use of our website.
The Company Administrator and other authorized administrators are allowed to assign privileges to other administrators in their organization. In fact, an individual needs to have the privilege to be able to assign privileges.
Although it's possible to assign the same privileges to all administrators in an organization, we do not recommend this for operational, legal, and security reasons. The Company Administrator has the primary authority for granting privileges, based on an individual's roles and responsibilities. Of course, the Company Administrator always is free to assign most privileges (except for a couple) to anyone in the organization.
We recommend certain privileges for different individuals in your organization, depending on their positions in the organization. These privileges are grouped in standard Privilege Profiles. If possible, select standard profiles that meet your needs. If necessary, you may customize a Privilege Profile simply by selecting privileges that you want to assign to an administrator.
We have developed a number of standard Privilege Profiles, which are clusters of privileges that we recommend for administrators with different roles and responsibilities. These profiles make is easy for you to assign privileges to administrators without having to develop a unique profile for each administrator.
If our standard Privilege Profiles do not meet your organizational needs, you can easily customize these profiles and use them as your "standard" Privilege Profiles. Like standard profiles, customized Privilege Profiles simplify the process of assigning privileges to administrators in your organization.
